A plucky journalist-adventurer whose stories have sold over 350 million books worldwide, After rocking the comic book world Tintin has finally got his own big-budget Hollywood movie. The Adventures of Tintin is already a great hit in Europe, where it opened in late October and where the character has the most fan following. While most Americans have never heard of Tintin, it will be insane to say that they are unfamiliar with the name of Steven Spielberg.

Now let’s talk about the movie The Adventures of Tintin, The film is set in the early-middle 20th century in an unnamed European town. His spiked hair cut and chubby face makes him look no older than 16. The titular Tintin (Jamie Bell) is already a respected newspaper reporter and a neighborhood celebrity. He also lives alone and owns a handgun. In this movie The Adventures of Tintin, the chance purchase of a model boat leads him to a mystery involving a treasure-laden ship that was lost at sea over three centuries ago. Together with his trusty dog Snowy and a drunken sea captain named Haddock (Andy Serkis), he sets off on a across the globe adventure that puts him against a despicable figure named Sakharine (Daniel Craig).

The Adventures of Tintin is cutting-edge film making with an old-fashioned culture. Spielberg as always has done a marvelous job with his evolution to animation, the unstoppable march of technology and the constant bar-raising of the 3D-animated genre has schooled us to expect dazzling color and detail, and Tintin dutifully delivers on that front, but what’s more impressive is the cinematography, which is astonishing.
Tintin, a young journalist, and his dog Snowy, are browsing in an outdoor market in a European town. Tintin buys a model of a three-masted sailing ship, the Unicorn, for a good price, but is then immediately accosted by the sinister Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine, and the mysterious figure of Barnaby, who both try to buy the model from Tintin, without success. Tintin takes the ship home, but it is broken during a fight between Snowy and a neighbor’s cat. As it breaks, a parchment scroll slips out of the ship’s mast. Snowy spots it but is unable to alert Tintin. Meanwhile, incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson are on the trail of a pickpocket, Aristides Silk. Tintin visits Sakharine in Marlinspike Hall, where he learns that there are at least two model ships.
Later, Tintin is shot at, then abducted by accomplices of Sakharine, and imprisoned on the SS Karaboudjan. On board, Tintin escapes and meets the ship’s nominal captain, Haddock. Haddock has been supplied with whisky by first mate Allan, who is working for Sakharine, and the captain is permanently drunk, and doesn’t know what’s happening on board his ship. Tintin and Haddock (and Snowy) eventually escape from the Karaboudjan in a lifeboat. Sakharine sends a seaplane to find them, but Tintin is able to capture the plane, and fly towards the (fictitious) Moroccan port of Bagghar, but they crash in the desert.
Dehydrated in the heat, and suffering from a sudden lack of alcohol, Haddock hallucinates, and starts to remember stories about his ancestor, Sir Francis Haddock(e), who was captain of the Unicorn during the 17th century. Sir Francis’ treasure-laden ship was attacked by a pirate ship, led by the masked Red Rackham, and, after a fierce battle and eventual surrender, Sir Francis chose to sink the Unicorn, and most of the treasure, rather than allow it to fall into Jackhammer hands. It transpires that there were three models of the Unicorn, each containing a scroll. Together, the scrolls will reveal the location of the sunken Unicorn, and its treasure.
In Bagghar, Tintin and the Captain find out that the third model ship is in the possession of the wealthy Omar Ben Salaad, but it is encased in a bullet-proof glass display case. Sakharine’s plan is to stage a concert involving famous diva Bianca Castafiore, the “Milanese nightingale”, whose penetrating singing voice will be able to shatter the glass case, allowing Sakharine’s trained hawk to fly down and steal the third scroll. After a chase down to the harbour, pursued by Tintin and Haddock, Sakharine finally escapes with all three scrolls. Tintin chases him back to Europe and arranges a police reception for him on the dockside. Haddock and Sakharine, who is revealed to be the descendant of Red Rackham, replay their ancestors’ swashbuckling sword fight, using dockside cranes, and Haddock is eventually victorious.
With the three scrolls in their possession, Tintin and Haddock find that the indicated location is Marlinspike Hall, and that the hall had been built originally by Sir Francis Haddock. There, in the cellar, they find some of the treasure, and a clue to the location of the sunken Unicorn.

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 1: Days Gone Bye

Episode 1 of the Walking dead season 1started with Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes awakens in hospital (after being shot on duty) to find it abandoned with bodies strewn everywhere. He returns to his home to find it vacant but believes his wife and son may still be alive. He meets Morgan Jones and his son Duane who explain to him that the world has been infested with zombies. The disease usually started with an infection and high fever followed by re-animation. The creatures are attracted to sound and eat flesh to survive. Morgan tells him that he thinks there is a refugee center in Atlanta and Rick sets off in the hope of finding his wife and child. Once there, he finds himself surrounded by the undead with little visible hope of dodging but suddenly to his comfort he hears a voice over the radio. That’s it in the first episode of the Walking Dead season 1

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 2: Guts

Rescued from his unstable situation, Rick meets a band of scavengers in the second episode of the walking dead season 1 who have made their way to Atlanta to get supplies for their larger group that lives in a makeshift camp just outside the city. They’re trapped in a department store with hundreds of zombies trying to break down the door to eat them. Tensions are high and Rick ends up handcuffing one of them, a redneck named Merle Dixon, to keep him from killing someone. They try to escape through the sewers without success and Rick comes up with a clever scheme to draw the zombies away from their location. They have to leave one man behind however.

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 3: Tell It to the Frogs

In this episode of the walking dead season 1 Rick and his newfound friends return to their camp where he is reunited with this wife Lori and his son Carl. She’s very happy to see her husband alive and well but is more than a bit angry at Shane Walsh, Rick’s police partner, who told her he was dead. The returnees also have to tell Merle Dixon’s brother Daryl that they had to leave him behind. Rick is feeling some guilt over that and decides he’s going to return to Atlanta to rescue him. What they find when they get there is not what they expected. Back at the camp, Shane takes out his frustrations on one of the men who has been physically abusing his wife.

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 4: Vatos

Search for Merle continues in this episode of the walking dead season 1, Rick and the others stumble across another group of survivors that kidnap Glenn and are willing to trade him for Rick’s guns. At camp, Jim has been digging a bunch of holes and everyone else wonders why. Their question is answered, that night, when zombies attack.

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 5: Wildfire

In episode 5 of the walking dead season 1 Rick tries to make contact with Morgan to tell him his location. Back at camp, after the fight with the zombies, Jim has been bitten and is slowly beginning to change; Andrea mourns over Amy’s death; and Shane blames it all on Rick for leaving. Now that camp isn’t safe anymore, Rick decides that it’s time for them all to move out. He plans to take them to the C.D.C., a military base, to find a cure for Jim and, hopefully, more survivors.

The Walking Dead Season 1 – Episode 6: TS-19

Having been allowed into the CDC building, the survivors meet Dr. Edwin Jenner who appears to be the only survivor in the facility. There is plenty of food and drink and the surroundings are comfortable. A drunken Shane tries to reconcile with Lori Grimes, but she will have nothing to do with it. Dr. Jenner shows them how the infection works to reanimates a dead corpse but admits that he hasn’t been able to make any advance on defeating it. Despair sets in at the realization that there is no cure for the plague that has surrounded them. Jenner has his own plans for the future leaving the survivors only a few minutes to leave the facility. Not everyone chooses to leave however. the Walking dead Season 1 ends with the remaining survivors are out again with a new search start for other survivors and a cure to this plague.

Telechimp.com will be back soon with the new and latest seasons of the walking dead.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 1

The Birthday: its Elena’s 18th birthday in the first episode of Vampire diaries season 3 where Caroline is busy planning a party, but Elena is focused on searching for any clues that might help her discover where Stefan is. Damon is also searching for Stefan, while trying to protect Elena and keep her from doing anything that would draw Klaus’ attention. Meanwhile, Klaus and Stefan are busy trailing a werewolf named Ray Sutton. Now working at the Mystic Grill along with Matt, Jeremy is struggling to understand why he keeps seeing the ghosts of Vicki and Anna since he was brought back to life by Bonnie’s magic. Meanwhile, Alaric does his best to watch over Elena and Jeremy, while dealing with his grief over Jenna’s death. Finally, Caroline and Tyler face a new and unexpected challenge.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 2

The Hybrid: Second episode of Vampire diaries season 3 started where Klaus puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton, things don’t go exactly as Klaus had planned. Damon and Alaric reluctantly go along with Elena’s new strategy to find Stefan, leading Damon into a dangerous fight with an unexpected enemy. Jeremy turns to Matt for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline is in need of his help, Tyler faces an emotional confrontation with his mother. That calls the end of this season of Vampire diaries season 3.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 3

The End of the Affair: Klaus and Stefan arrive in Chicago, where Stefan is reunited with a vampire who hasn’t really moved on from her interest in him decades earlier. In a flashback to Chicago in the 1920s, Stefan comes face-to-face with a shocking chapter from his wild past. After Damon gets a tip on Stefan and Klaus’ whereabouts from an unexpected source, he and Elena follow their trail. Back in Mystic Falls, Tyler is concerned about Caroline and turns to Sheriff Forbes for help. Another episode of Vampire Diaries season 3.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 4

Disturbing Behavior: in this episode of Vampire diaries season 3, Klaus uses Gloria, a witch he knew long ago, to help him track down missing information that will explain why his plan isn’t working. Gloria’s spells reveal intriguing glimpses of the truth, but she soon realizes she needs Stefan’s knowledge to complete the puzzle. When Stefan suddenly finds himself in danger, help comes from a surprising ally. Back in Mystic Falls, a frustrating new enemy pushes Damon over the brink and he lashes out in a way that will have lasting consequences. Caroline struggles with her own emotional issues, even as she tries to help Elena face her feelings. Jeremy makes a brief but disturbing breakthrough with one of his ghostly visitors, leaving him more confused than ever. Finally, Bonnie has a strange encounter that will affect everyone.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 5

The Reckoning: Despite all that has happened, Caroline is determined to see that Elena, Bonnie, Matt and Tyler all enjoy a traditional Senior Prank Night before the school year begins at Mystic Falls High School. However, when uninvited guests show up, it doesn’t take long for the evening to take a deadly turn. Damon convinces Jeremy that he can use his new connection to the other side to help find a way to defeat Klaus. Finally, Klaus deepens his hold on Stefan and uses him for increasingly violent and dangerous purposes. Another exciting episode of Vampire Diaries season 3 came to an end.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 6

Smells Like Teen Spirit: On the first day of their senior year, Elena, Caroline, Bonnie and Matt are still reeling from recent events, while Tyler seems to be enjoying everything a little too much. Damon is annoyed by a new houseguest, and everyone is surprised by the arrival of a new student in Alaric’s history class. Matt asks Bonnie for help when he realizes he made a serious mistake. Meanwhile, Stefan continues to carry out his latest assignment from Klaus. This was a slow episode from the vampire diaries season 3.

Vampire Diaries Season 3 – Episode 7

Ghost World: As Mystic Falls prepares to celebrate the traditional Illumination Night, the town is invaded by spirits of the dead. After a particularly violent encounter with an angry spirit, Damon asks Bonnie to find the reason behind the ghosts’ surprising power. Elena convinces Jeremy to use his connection to the other side to help her find a new way to reach Stefan, leading Jeremy to a terrible choice. Finally, Alaric discovers a long-hidden clue to the past.

Advance Review: Syfy is looking to step up its original programming this summer with Haven, an ambitious new supernatural drama that is certainly a worth a look as far as summer series go, but ultimately fails to distinguish itself as an engrossing thriller.

The premise involves Audrey Parker (Emily Rose), an FBI agent assigned to investigate the disappearance of an ex-con. This leads her to Haven, a small picturesque community on the coastline of Maine. Agent Parker soon discovers however that a few of the locals have some supernatural abilities that they don’t teach at the academy.

The show is touted as being based on the Stephen King story The Colorado Kid, a 2005 hard-boiled mystery novella, but an “inspired by” banner would have been more appropriate. Other than the small town setting and female lead, the creators daringly draw more from King’s paranormal works than the detective novel. The result is a show that may pique the interest of Twin Peaks, X-Files and Heroes fans, but doesn’t display any potential to live up to those series.

The cast assembled for Haven includes no household names, but avid TV watchers will recognize a few familiar faces. Emily Rose has a few episodes of ER and Brothers and Sisters under her belt while Eric Balfour has appeared on 24 numerous times as Milo Pressman. This is the first time that most of the leads have been asked to carry a show. Fortunately, they seem comfortable doing so.

Rose is refreshing as female FBI heroine Audrey, who brushes off any notions of obnoxiousness or incompetence. Lucas Bryant (Queer as Folk) is likeable enough as local cop Nathan Wournos and Balfour is perfectly suited for the role of a smooth talking small time smuggler. Believe it or not, Haven has some humor blended in, and the witty dialogue is actually the most memorable aspect of the pilot.

Perhaps the show’s biggest misfire is the failure to make the seaside town of Haven a mysterious enough locale to warrant naming the show after it. Interesting visuals, enigmatic locals, and just an overall sense of eeriness are strangely absent. Other than some unfavorable weather patterns, Haven seems more suited for a bed and breakfast weekend than the setting of a Stephen King adaptation.

Writing/producing team Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn (The Dead Zone) have pegged their project as a standalone show in which a viewer can tune in to any episode and enjoy the case that week. Watching the pilot however, it is evident that the series is more suited for some heavy mythology. The community of Haven holds a secret, and watching Parker put together the mystery of the town piece by piece will make for a far more entertaining season than formulating each episode to be accessible to first time viewers. Perhaps the writers will try to do both, but a show of this kind just seems naturally suited for serialization.

Don’t expect to see anything in Haven that you haven’t seen before, but it is still worth a try given the limited options the summer season provides. Just consider yourself warned that that the chill factor on this King tale is somewhat mild.
